July 2nd 2009, I turned 19 in Rome!
It looked a little like this...
At the class excursion to different Baroque Churches Dr. Kresser and the class sang to me
After class some girls and I rented bicycles in the Bourghese Gardens. It was magical. My bike had a bell and we biked past a pond with white swans in it.
We returned just as it started to pour and thunder storm. Waited out the storm in a cafe in the gardens.
After the storm we found ourselves at the top of the Spanish steps, so we had a little photoshoot :)
When we arrived back at the hotel, much to my surprise, almost the whole group was waiting to go out for a birthday dinner!
We went to a great place where I've been a couple times before. I had the best lasagna of my life! (thought of dad) Followed by desert pizza that was crepe crust, nutella and ricota cheese! Oh my word!

One of the highlights of the day though was reading the birthday wishes from home on here. Thank you so much! I love and miss you all!
xoxo

Hi Nina - where on earth are you??!! We're looking through your blog... how cool.
I saw your mom and dad and Nat walking up our driveway and could not believe they were here. What a surprise to see them.
I hear you're going to be in MN soon. Call me when you're there and we'll do stuff together for the 6 weeks you're there. I have a room in one of my assisted living communities in Minnetonka. We'll have to see how close you are to me. Nat showed me pictures of the place you're going to be working. Can't wait to see it...(looks kind of expensive, though!)
We're sitting on the back porch eating crackers, grapes and drinking lemonade. You missed the 4th of July parade.
Hope you have fun hiking the 5 cities when you wake up.
You are beautiful,Nina! It's wonderful to see your pictures and to see your mom and dad and Natalie!
    Take care, love you, Debbie
