HAPPY FATHERS DAY DAD!
I just got back from 'the' flea market...it was lame though. haha. it just felt like dollar tree. not very exotic.
Whew. I am tired.
Let's see, yesterday...
The day began with caffe and crossiant at the piazza novana.
The group excurion was to the Baths of Diocletian. The the Renaissance period the bathh complexx was converted into a Christian church. It was huge and very cool.
After the baths we went to a museum with Greek original and Roman copy statues! Greek originals are VERY rarel so that was neat. We have a big assignment from there with writing so my time there was pretty intense. I still need to finish it today.
After that we went to the gorcery store and bought stuff for lunch. Navigating food in language I can't read was exciting :) hehe. But it worked out.
In the afternoon we went wandering.
We had supper at the same place as the night before and I had the pumpkin ravioli again :) yumm.
After that Rani and I went walking more. We found the BEST store yet! ahhh! Absolutely love the clothing there! So great! But we were rushed out ecuase they were closing shortly after we got in. They are very strict about clsing times here. I am dertermined to go back. We walked to the anniversary building becuase it is quite a sight at night. Then came back. Going to bed felt soooo good, probabaly thebest yet. The night before, I couldn't sleep! I think I totaled at about 3.5 hours :(
When I woke this morning it was pouring! (it was the first morning where it was hard to get out of bed) Our excursion to the flea market was postponed an hour until the rain lightened, during which I got coffee of course :) I'm not sure what the rest of today will look like. Possibly so homework and bike rentals?!?!
Hope you are all well!
Love you Dad! Thinking of you today and sending a handshake and hugs :)
What are you doing to celebrate?
Have you looked at houses at all?
Al :) how is the job? at the mozart concert I went to the other night I saw a guy in the choir that looked just like your friend Joe! What else is new? Love you!
Kimmy! How is CO? I hope you are well. Give me an update:)

Hey girl. It is so great to follow you. Do you just have to pinch yourself to make sure it is real? We are in CO until Friday. It has been great. Should have seen your little cousins camping in the rockies. Abby is not sure she will ever do it again.

Hey Neenah, Looks like you are having a great time. Your photos remind me of the cathedrals and museums that I went thru when we lived in Spain. I don't remember if it was in a Church or museum, but one place had a huge mural of Mary and she periodically wept. Real drops of water would flow from the corner of one eye.
ReplyDeleteYour mom said that she told you that I would like for you to get me a baseball style cap with something on the front of it. Like the name of the town with a logo or something. But I am picky about the style of cap, so here is the criteria. NOT a "soft hat". It has to have some body to it and maintain its shape. The "bill" can be curved or flat with or without design on it. The front part where a logo or design would go should be about 3" tall. A little shorter is o.k., but not more than 3" tall. Nothing real gaudy color wise. Remember that I have a ruddy complexion and blue/green eyes. Single or multi-color are both o.k.. If you find one and are not sure and have time send me a picture of it. I don't know what size hat I wear so it has to be adjustable. If all of this is too much, just use your skill and talent and pick out one. Then I'll tell you how to pack it so that it doesn't get squashed in your luggage or mail.
I'm going to be in Port Townsend, WA. Sept 6 - 9, but your Mom says that you will be home then, so I'll miss you. My buddy from Maine just moved to WA and we will be out west fishing late Aug, early Sept and then go over to his new house for a couple of days.
Send a few cards to my Mom if you would please, she would really get a kick out of that.
Well I better go. Enjoy yourself, but be careful.
Love and Miss ya.......Uncle Artie
